New DETE Portal - Early Issues
As you may be aware , the DETE's new employment permit system launched in April 2025 and users have reported technical issues, including account creation problems, mobile verification failures, and system bugs. The system experienced processing delays and high query volumes initially.
Since day 1 we have been working closely with the Department to keep abreast of issues and highlight difficulties that ourselves and our clients might have experienced.
Things have improved since the initial teething problems in May.
However, some issues persist, with some downtime on the system earlier this week.
This highlights the necessity to be organised and planned when dealing with Permit applications and deadlines.
Please ensure that you need to give yourself time to get relevant candidates registered.
We will continue to work with clients and the Department to ensure that Permits get processed in a timely fashion.
